At El Regato School, we continue to make strong strides on the path to fostering meaningful, deep, and personalized learning for our students. Within our ongoing commitment to improvement, at the start of this school year, our teachers have received training based on formative assessment, a key perspective for comprehensive learning.

On September 2nd and 3rd, 30 teachers from all educational stages received intensive training from the renowned educational advisor Mariana Morales. Morales is the author of several books on formative assessment, and her experience and approach gave our teachers the opportunity to acquire practical tools that can be immediately applied in the classroom.

While traditional assessment is based on a final grade, formative assessment is a continuous process grounded in the student's daily work. The goal is not to assign a grade, but to provide constructive and timely feedback so that students can identify their strengths and areas for improvement. It promotes student autonomy and responsibility and offers valuable information to teachers to adapt their teaching strategies so that all students can progress.

This training is just the beginning: next school year, the rest of the teachers will continue receiving training along the same lines.
