COMPETENCY AND VALUE MODEL:  COMPREHENSIVE PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Our educational model promotes comprehensive personal development in all areas.  Between the ages of 2 and 7, the child develops the key elements of their personality. We see the educational process as something holistic, where cognitive, physical, social and emotional aspects are equally important.

ACTIVE TEACHING: ENVIRONMENTS ENHANCING LEARNING

Active teaching enhances learning through observation and experimentation, providing the environments, materials and resources necessary for that purpose. The ultimate aim is to design spaces and materials to make our classrooms experimental laboratories. The school has developed the following environments for our students.
  • Bizimate for the development of mathematical skills.
  • Berbalagun for the development of language skills.
  • Jolasplay for symbolic play and developing autonomy.
  • Atelier, the art laboratory.
  • Eureka, for the development of scientific skills.
  • Ciberspace, (digital skills).
  • The psychomotor room, for the development of physical skills.

“WE GET EXCITED” CHALLENGE-BASED LEARNING

According to neuroeducation, learning involves creating neural pathways and, to do this, the following two things are essential: excitement and motivation. Therefore, the child plays a pivotal role in their learning and they learn by playing.

PERSONAL GUIDANCE AND ENGAGEMENT WITH FAMILIES

We start guiding our students on the very first day that they come to the school. During the year, we hold three tutorials with families for comprehensive monitoring of each of our students  (2 face-to-face tutorials and an in-person classroom visit to see how we work). We know that the school and family working hand in hand is the basis for any academic success.  We also have the Educamos digital platform that allows us to keep in touch with families by email and monitor their daily activities.

DIGITAL PROJECT

Our students have digital platforms (Moodle, Google Site, Classroom) with content created by our teachers. On these platforms, both the families and students have access to the content that we study in the classroom, thus boosting student autonomy.  In the infant school classrooms, we also have computer devices for each student aged 4 and above. The aim is to start developing digital skills from that age and to enable the use of motivational resources for learning.

LANGUAGE PROJECT

We define ourselves as a trilingual school. Therefore, in infant school, our students are taught subjects in English and in Basque (Gizarte, Ingurumena... and Basque language). Our working language is Basque, regardless of the model chosen for immersion in this language.
